SAFETY FIRST - ELCB/RCCB

SAFETY FIRST
ELCB/RCCB

Even though our house equip with Mains Circuit Breaker complete with ELCB/RCCB at our mains Distribution Board. Normally the one which installed at our home is 100mA / 40A or some house may equip with 100mA / 63A
It can cut off the fault circuit immediately on the occasion of shock hazard or earth leakage of trunk line. Thus it is suitable to avoid the shock hazard and fire caused by earth leakage.

Look at our shack most of our radio shack we have a lot of electrical gadjets such as 13.8V Regulated DC Power Supply, a few VHF Transceiver, HF Transceiver, Personnal Computer, ATU, and some may even have Linear Amplifier. We have spend a lot of money in buying those equipments. Look at our protection system. We only relies on our mains ELCB and with a 13 Amp soket outlets. Always the case that before our 13Amps fuse blow…our equipment may damage because of high current that flows to our equipments during short circuit. The 13amps fuse may blow after we drain more than 3KWs !!!

It is recommended that 30mA ELCB/RCCB to be install in our radio shack. This may protect our equipments against over current and also earth fault. Get a good electrician to advice you on how to protect your equipments and your house…don’t end up there is a fire in your room. Please don’t buy a cheap multiple switch socket outlet at a supermarket maybe might cost you about RM10 to RM15 because I have experienced one of those multiple socket outlet burned due to high current which the socket cannot handle. Buy those which is branded they might cost you a little bit more but you can sleep in a peace.
