What about ambulance service?
NST AUGUST 11 2002 reported that ….“And over the years we have read enough reports in newspapers ridiculing our emergency services for inefficiencies. We heard of proposals to setup a centralized emergency agency to be co-ordinated by the police a study has been commissioned and it is expected to be implemented in the middle of 2003. In fact the last time the idea was mooted was back in 1996. What took the authorities so long is anyone’s guess. Until today we still do not have an agency that manages our ambulance services, perhaps the most important component of the emergency services.
While ministry has control over its own ambulances services it does not with the ambulances with the ambulances run by MRCS, St John Ambulance, Civil Defence nor even those at university hospitals. And this does not even count all the ambulances owned by private health services.

Good News.... we heard that the Government is implementing the “GIRN” it cost few billion Ringgit. According to the reliable sources the system will work well and can be intergrated with all the search and rescue agencies during emergency/disaster and it can do wonders. We see what happen next…………????
